ECHO SUMMIT SIDEHILL VIADUCT Caltrans is conducting traffic safety roadwork to meet current safety standards. Over the lifetime of the bridge, natural wear-and-tear has occurred, necessitating standard repairs. These repairs will help ensure the safety of the bridge and help preserve this beautiful thoroughfare.
 

Traffic Announcements

There are alternating traffic controls. Explore the alternate route.

From Sacramento: Motorists can take Highway 16 east, to Highway 49 south, to Highway 88 east, to Highway 89 north back to Highway 50 in Meyers; or continue on Highway 50 east through Sacramento to Highway 49 south in Placerville. This alternate route goes through California’s historic Gold Country–past panoramic vineyards, rugged river canyons, gold mines, museums and flower farms. It’s a beautiful way to Tahoe!
